FRAGRANCE: Soap & Paper Factory meticulously blends essential and phthalate free fragrance oils to create natural, clean fragances that are truly unique and beautiful. Sun Kissed fragrance is bright and happy, wtih light citrus notes perfectly paired with their floral counterparts to create this slightly feminine and much-loved aroma.

ABOUT THE CANDLES: They use cotton wicks and pure soy wax to make our candles because of their clean burning qualities. Every batch of candles is tested for wick optimization, cool and hot fragrance throw & burn times. We make our candles in small batches, and the craftsmanship and quality are unsurpassed. All of our products are made in the USA.

THE STORY BEHIND SUN KISSED: Many moons ago, we collaborated with Anthropologie to create our Farmacie Collection. This collection was desinged by Shannon, and was made up of Lavender Clary Sage, Red Rose Saffron & Marigold Calendula. The collection was much loved, particularly the Marigold Calendula. When we were creating our core line a few years ago, we decided we wanted to “reinvent" the Marigold Calendula and we did just that. We talked with Elizabeth about creating a new look, and using bright bold colors, she created what is now Sun Kissed!

BEST PRACTICES: When you burn your soy candle for the first time, it is important to burn for about 4 hours. That is how much time it will take for the wax to melt and pool all the way to the edge of the tin. Blow out your candle. Before burning again, allow wax to cool. Before lighting, trim the wick to about 1/4" before lighting to ensure even burning.The reason you trim the wick is so that the flame won’t be too high or hot, and your candle will burn slower, giving you many hours of burn time. If the wick is too tall and hot, your wax will melt very fast and is prone to tunnel. Always burn candles for 3-4 hours at a time for best results. Light and burn on a level surface and allow wax to burn and pool before extinguishing. Do not leave candle lit and unattended.

Soap & Paper Factory is a grassroots journey of two women in a Hudson Valley small river town outside of New York City. This woman owned business started in 2001 with a love of soap making (in the kitchen) and selling at farmer’s markets. They formulated all of their own products and fragrances, choosing the best raw materials, for unique, gorgeous products. All of our products are made in the USA, mostly in their home based tri-state area. Their mission has always been the same: Simple. Pure. Honest. Transparent.
